Hi everyone. GTYC Season Opening Day is on next Sunday, 9th October. The plan is to have boats launched and ready to go by 1030, at which time there will be a briefing revealing sailing instructions. At 1100, in the absence of the Commodore, the Vice Commodore, Glenn, will be on the Rescue boat Even Keel, anchored a little way out. Vessels should then motor out, assemble in a Queue (a bit like herding cats) and motor slowly past EK4, giving three cheers for the Vice Commodore as they pass. Each will be rewarded with chocolates thrown by the VC.

After that, vessels should hoist their sails for the cruisey Stern-chaser which will take about an hour and a quarter for the first boat away, no spinnakers by the way. After the finish, there will be an award to the winner, and the BBQ lunch. Bring your own meat, salads etc, drinks available.

Social members, you have an opportunity to participate here. Make yourselves known to be allocated to a yacht. Wind is forecast to be moderate but it will be cool.

Hoping to see you there GTYC Sailing Committee.
